Bitfury Collaborates to Manage Medical Data Permissions With Blockchain Technology

The blockchain-powered medical data marketplace Longenesis and Bitfury Group have together launched composition of a blockchain-based consent management system for the healthcare sector. The development was proclaimed in a press release distributed to all.

Per the release, the new product approaches issues with the management of user acquiescence for ongoing and upcoming research attempts, compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as streamlining data gathering for medical research.

Once accumulated, all data and updates to the user’s consent are reportedly listed on the ExonumTM blockchain with time branding for future auditing. The answer can purportedly be utilized both as a full data-management system and as an add-on to enduring digital systems for storing user permission. As per experts, while the regulations differ from country to country, the research companies should strive to deploy content management systems that preserve the data owners far strong than any control. At the same time, the approval procedure should be pain-free, rapid, cost-effective and comprehensive to ensure that the patients are fully-protected and trained.

Recently, Bitfury collaborated with radiology blockchain marketplace Medical Diagnostic Web (MDW) to build a blockchain-based medical imaging ecosystem. Inside the collaboration, Bitfury, MDW, and Longenesis aim to produce a platform for managing, sharing and acquiring medical imaging and diagnostics data such as X-rays and CT scans.

Blockchain technology has been actively disposed of by organizations around the globe aiming to reconstruct electronic health information. In March, the South Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and the Seoul Medical Center together developed the “Smart Hospital” project equipped to improve data efficiency and reduce processing timing for the hospital as mentioned earlier.

Experts from the University of California, San Francisco, also recommended a method of dispensing medical data utilizing a blockchain-based system. The system strives to improve the traceability and immutability of accumulated clinical data and make it more accurate. Besides, the project seeks to advance arrangements for reporting different events during research and develop medical record management.
