Keeping morale high at your company is an integral part of running a successful business full of high performers. When you want to accomplish your company’s goals, increase your bottom line, and court success as a business, you need to have a strong team behind you and some clearly defined goals.

Cultivating a strong team involves taking a human approach to your business. This means treating employees like valuable assets they are and not as mere cogs in the machine.

5 Ways To Boost Morale At Work Using Technology

Using technology to create a better working environment is easier than these days and helps you accomplish your goals with ease. Here are five ways to boost morale at your company by leveraging technology tools.

1. Create A Fun, Productive Environment

Work shouldn’t be a constant barrage of tasks and projects. It can be a fun environment if you use the right technology tools to make it one. Creating a positive environment starts with onboarding and training. Employees should be ready to work from their first day without having to find additional training on their own.

Managers need to take the time to create a positive environment to help the employee acclimate to the organization. Employees should also be able to kind of create their own space and work areas so it’s more conducive to accomplishing their goals.

Frequent check-ins, regular feedback, providing excellent communication tools, and creating an overall positive workplace can go a long way toward making employees successful and happy at work.

2. Check-ins Through Video Software

Check-ins are an important part of evaluating performance and providing feedback. The old style of doing a performance management review every six months is a bit antiquated. It doesn’t give employees an idea of how they’re performing and they can be biased at times. Doing a continuous performance management style of feedback can improve morale significantly.

One way to do that is to use video software to do frequent check-ins. A check-in is a quick, energetic interaction with your team. Doing a check-in can help you avoid miscommunication with staff, discuss goals, talk about progress, and help reinforce company values. Employees should leave a check-in with a sense that they are doing well and a clear direction for where to improve.

It shouldn’t act as a counseling session or for highlighting problems. Performing frequent check-ins through the software can be quite beneficial to keep projects going, making them one of your most valuable tools in performance management.

3. Recognition Platforms

A significant part of making the workplace better for everyone is using recognition. Broadly speaking, employee recognition is where both managers and employees can take the time to recognize each other’s work/accomplishments through social platforms like the Workhuman cloud or by other means such as recognizing letters and celebrations.

Work anniversaries/milestones are a perfect way to show your employees that you appreciate their hard work and dedication to the company.

Good employees help a business run smoothly and deserve appreciation for their efforts. Whether they’re going above and beyond what’s expected for accomplishing their goals quickly it’s important to recognize their accomplishments.

A first-year anniversary celebration milestone. Celebrating them makes employees feel like a valued part of the team and ultimately creates an environment where everyone feels more comfortable approaching management when they need help.

Creating trust through recognition is critical to your success and is a worthwhile pursuit for any company looking to improve employee performance, morale, engagement, and retention.

5. Email And Communication Tools

Email is great for opening up a forum for the sharing of ideas. It’s also great for staying in touch with each other and connecting the team as they complete a project. But somewhere that an email can make a difference is by offering recognition.

A quick, succinct email highlighting an employee’s accomplishments can go a long way toward improving morale. Moreover, tools like instant messaging systems such as Slack, online platforms for collaboration, and video conferencing tools like Zoom are great ways to communicate better.

Better communication leads to increased productivity and a happier working environment. When you communicate efficiently, morale can improve greatly. You spend less time working on tedious tasks and administration and more time focusing on important projects.
